Our lead stylist, Adina Sherman, offers Signature Curly Cuts along with specialty techniques such as Ouidad’s Carve and Slice® and Curlisto Diametrix®. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with these cutting methods—during your consultation, we’ll learn about you and your hair goals to determine the best approach for your curls.

All curly cuts, as well as our original and organic hair colour services and highlights, prioritize the health of your hair. We use only the highest-quality products to clarify, cleanse, hydrate, and style every wave and curl type. A curly cut can truly liberate your curls, but at CurlyGirl Studio, we focus just as much on teaching you how to care for your curls at home so you can rock your waves and curls every day—not just on salon day!

Our stylists are expertly trained in tutorials, classic wavy and curly dry cut techniques, using our signature curl-by-curl method to create precise shapes. For more advanced shaping, weight removal, volume maximization, or corrective cuts, you will book a service directly with Adina.

CurlyGirl Studio was founded in Thornhill in 2007, where we called home for 17 years. We moved to Lawrence Park in 2020 during the pandemic and then temporarily relocated to 2025 Yonge Street in the heart of Davisville Village in 2023 while searching for the perfect space. We are now conveniently located at 20 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 442 (above McDonald’s).

We are proud to be the only salon in North America offering three unique curly cutting techniques: Deva, Ouidad, and Curlisto. Booking your appointment can be done here. Every service begins with a thorough consultation and hair analysis. We want to understand you and your hair—assessing growth patterns, thickness, density, curl health, and any areas of dehydration. Together, we’ll discuss and implement tailored solutions throughout your service to set you up with a personalized wavy or curly routine that fits your hair goals, schedule, and lifestyle.

Prepare For Your Service

Clients are asked to come in with their hair washed within 24 hours of their appointment, styled using a leave-in cream styling product or leaving in some conditioner. Hair must be 100% dry for this service. Hair must be clarified of all oils. Please do not clip, tie, twist or braid your hair before the service. We need to see the natural fall of your curls and curl pattern.

During the consultation we will get to know your lifestyle and hair goals. Our stylists will access where your curls patterns may vary, density, fineness or thickness of strands, spring factor and hydration level of your curls. All these factors must be considered to deliver the best results for your curls and curl goals.

You will learn how to properly cleanse and condition your hair and we will incorporate a suitable styling routine catering to your wavy or curly needs and your styling goals. Your hair will be styled and dry. We will finish the service reviewing the service and tweaking / editing the haircut where needed.

We do not believe there is one size fits all routine. All of our services will be customized exclusively for you. 

What is A Dry Curly Cut

The Deva Cut was created by the Devachan Salon and is a special dry cut technique for curly, wavy or coily hair. The dry cut is more about making each curl look its best and not just a way to “tame” the curls. The cut is performed on dry hair so the stylist sees how each curl will fall and each individual curl is shaped. All of our services begin with our Signature dry cut and this is why we require you to come in prepared as above.

Express Curly Cut | Cut & Go | Dusting

Fir this cut we ask clients to come in done with product applied on what’re day is their best hair day! What is an Express Cut a.k.a dustin or dry trim? This is a maintenance cut not requiring a wash and style. Have you mastered your curly or wavy style since your first appointment. A great option to keep ends fresh is to book this service. Come in curly washed and we will dust your ends. Keep those waves and curls popping with freshly oxiginated ends. This in-between service is the best way to encourage healthy hair growth. This is a maintenance cut booked every second cut to keep your ends fresh. This is not a cut to book for a new shape or drastic change. Book this service every 3-4 months depending on your curl pattern. Shorter curly hair styles will be in more frequently to maintain volume and shape. Longer hair will be in at about the 4-5 month mark.

Ouidad Carve and Slice

Ouidad’s Carve and Slicing® is a curl-specific cutting technique that removes the bulk that causes the dreaded “pyramid” or triangular shapes and enhances the natural curl pattern to achieve well-defined ringlets that fit gently into each other like puzzle pieces. The Ouidad service is done on wet hair and a suitable cutting method for any hair type. 

Curlisto Diametrix

Curlisto Diametrix cutting method is also performed on wet hair. Curls are sectioned and weight or heavier bulky areas are targeted to strategically remove weight, encourage curls and maximize beautiful definition. This cutting method is suitable for all hair textures.

 

Curly Cut & Tutorial

Two-hour one-on-one customized curl training designed just for your curl pattern. The session includes. hair analysis, Signature Curly Cut, clarifying, treatment, wash and style. You will learn hands on how to wash, style and care for your curls from A-Z.  We will dig deep into your routine and hair history to access the habits that need to adjusted to create the best wavy or curly maintenance and styling habits for you to live a life with natural hair. We will liberate you, your waves or curls! E-copy of the “ABCs” is included with your take home kit.

Curly Girl Tutorial Only

This 1.5 hour session will change the way you look at your curls forever. Includes one-on-one curl coaching. The session will focus on your routine from wash and styling and rebuilding positive wavy or curl habits so you will be able to rock those curls! No more knots or matted hair. Detangling will be made easy. You will learn all you need to help turn those dry curls (or curls in hiding) around.
